Occupation and Position.
Minister of Information for Stones Throw Records.
What neighborhood do you closely identify with? What makes it so unique to you?
Silver Lake. Apart from the skinny jeans phenomenon, it’s the most creative, artistic, & laid-back area of L.A., which is good cuz I’m a creative, artistic, & laid-back kind of guy.
What’s the greatest item that you’ve dug up at a local garage sale? How much did it cost?
Does Craigslist count as a garage sale? If so, it would be a vintage record and eight-track player.
If you could interview one unsung hero, who would it be? Why?
The inventor of Nerf. Who doesn’t like Nerf? Just think of how peaceful the world would be if there was more Nerf bestowed upon us.
What’s your favorite youtube video. Please provide embeddable link?
Youtube?! That’s so 2007. It’s all about youporn in ‘08.
Where are your favorite local spots to eat?
Silver Lake has it all… Blairs (American), Malo (Mexican), Shibucho (Sushi), Michelangelo (Pizza), Aroma (Fine Dining).
What are your favorite local nightlife scenes.
Been there, done that. I’m an old man these days so my days of going out are few & far between. I much prefer a nice dinner with some wine or a good scotch, but that’s not to say you won’t find me at the local watering hole throwing back cold ones like it’s going out of style.
What songs are at the top of your playlist at this very moment?
Radiohead – Weird Fishes/Arpeggi
James Pants – We’re Through
Pilooski – Dirty Edits V.1
Aloe Blacc – Smells Like Teen Spirit
Waajeed – Fat Bottom Girls
What new projects you are building on right now?
Stones Throw collaborations with Stussy, Burton, Lacoste, & a mystery shoe project on top of a crazy year of amazing music to be released. Plus, the relaunch of Cold Chillin.
4th Season of The Do-Over Summertime Series which will include a Do-Over compilation as well as the debut of Do-Over NYC & SF.
