Art Talk! with Gary Panter

Art Talk recently posted a conversation with prolific underground artist, Gary Panter. Over the past three decades, he’s been uber-productive on a myriad of art projects which includes: recording music, doing puppetry, designing for magazines, set designing, creating alternative comics, among other things. It is incredible how much quality artwork this man has produced aside from being one of the main designers for the memorable demented children’s program, Pee-wee’s Playhouse. Nowadays Gary is known for his underground LA punk comics, the Jimbo and Dal Tokyo series. On top of those projects, he also manages to find time to teach at a college and put on a 60’s-acid-test-style light shows with Josh White, one of the originators of the form.
