Mosley Tribes - Model: Gates

Just when you thought sunglasses couldn’t get anymore innovative, enter the brilliant designers at Mosley Tribes. Appropriately titled the ‘Gates’ frame, these glasses allow you to be ‘that dude’ inside the club who wears his sunglasses all the while allowing you to flip your frames up, letting you bring the ‘extra’ to the party. Ok there really is no cool way to explain how cool these glasses are. I gotta be honest though, the glasses definitely make me think of Dwayne Wayne from a Different World. Keepin’ it fresh to def!

Lanvin S/S 2008

The House of Lanvin surprisingly has made deep inroads in mens fashion as of late. Fulfilling an excitement that was so lacking since Slimane’s departure from Dior Homme, Lanvin mens director, Ossendrijver approach to mens fashion is effortless and very creative. I especially enjoy his approach in his color choices, to go against uniformity and embrace smart color composition.

Malcolm Sutherland - The Tourists

Malcolm Sutherland an animator hailing from Montreal, Canada, possesses the uncanny gift to illustrate people in their natural state and the way they interact with their environment. In The Tourists , Sutherland’s humorous nuances display a variety of tendencies that characterize the “typical tourists.” People are milling about on the sandy beach, their tender skins sizzling under the blazing sun; while others are disoriented and oftentimes oblivious to their carelessness.

Stacy of Dior

I saw this one through the window working at Dior and I pulled her out. It was her first day working and she was in the middle of something but her boss was kind enough to let me borrow her for a second to take a picture. It turns out that I met her towards the end of last year through a friend.

Cocteau Twins - “Cherry-Coloured Funk”

There is something ephemeral about the sound of the Cocteau Twins. One of my favorite tracks is “Cherry-Coloured Funk.” When I first heard this song, it took me my surprise since it normally wasn’t the sound I was accustomed to. Overtime, it got me and it became a constant source of inspiration when I would design the many varying projects for Evil Monito. Enjoy!

Ratatat - “Imperials”

Ratatat - LP3
XL Recordings
(2008)

The highlighted track, "Imperials," from the electro-duo, Ratatat, is easily my favorite dance track from their latest album, LP3, with its infectious hip hop breakbeat and soaring melody. The masterminds behind this project, Evan Mast and Mike Stroud, have been doing their thing for a few years now, touring heavily with Bjork, Interpol, Franz Ferdinand, et al.
