Alaska in Winter: “Berlin”

As a native of Albuquerque, Brandon Bethancourt studied art and quietly honed his musical abilities.  But it was during his brief sojourn in a frigid and lonely cabin in Alaska, that he found his creative inspirations and birthed his solo project, Alaska in Winter.  With his identity as a musician solidified, he returned to New Mexico.  This time to contribute to the critically acclaimed album, Dance Party in the Balkans (Milan Records), working alongside fellow musicians, Zach Condon (of Beirut), Heather Trost (of A Hawk and a Hacksaw) and others.

After this family affair, Bethancourt found his calling.  He dropped his job, moved out of his house in New Mexico and jumped on a plane to Berlin, Germany. There he spent the past six months writing and recording this upcoming release, Holiday and just began his tour of Europe in late September. The album is slated for release on Milan Records, November 18, 2008.

  1. Anything aligned or correlated with Zack Condon receives two thumbs up from me. Though I did surf the hell out of Hype Machine this morning (after reading this) and found some great tunes. BTW, first time reader, your layout is great and I want to be in the club.
