My friend Sean, forwarded me this from the Wall Street Journal.  A rather insightful video on the historical legacy of Senator John McCain’s name.  Charles McCain Jr. and his sister Mary McCain Fluker are descendants of slaves held at the Mississippi plantation owned by John McCain’s great-great-grandfather .  The story of their family’s life makes a unique historical connection with the Presidential campaign ’08 and the Civil Rights Movement, very much in the vein of a Howard Zinn narrative.  WSJ’s reporter, Douglas Blackmon interviews the two siblings in the setting of their Southern hometown.
