EM:  Occupation and Position.
CANTOR:  Professional photographer.

EM:  What neighborhood do you closely identify with?  What makes your community so unique?
I identity with: Venice, Mar Vista, and Downtown Brooklyn. These were the neighborhoods where I grew up and Brooklyn is where I happen to reside now.  The diversity of people makes all of these neighborhoods so unique to my experience. Although back in the day there may have been a lot more intermixing of people. The family, the friends, the beach, the food, and the memories are all there in my heart.

jayEM:  What’s the greatest item that you found at your local garage/estate sale?
Some cool vintage cameras that I dug up.

EM:   If you could interview one unsung hero, who would it be? Why?
My good friends who live in the small town of Freedom, Maine. Those guys are truly talented musicians and to me they are all unsung heroes.

EM:  What’s your favorite youtube video?
I like a lot of the Chris Rock skits on youtube. Especially his political diatribes—you can find any of them easily in the search engine.  I also like this comedy group called The Whitest Kids You Know from Brooklyn, and their spoof on the Super Size Me documentary

EM:  Where are your favorite local spots to eat?
My favorite local spots to eat are Sakura Japanese Restaurant, in Mar Vista, and Geido in Brooklyn.

EM:  What songs are at the top of your playlist at this very moment?
Bob Dylan – “Girl From The North Country”
Black Keys – “Lies”
Jackson Brown – “Somebody’s Baby”

EM:  What is your current bedside read?
Current bedside read is Deliver Me From Nowhere by Tennessee Jones. The book is a bunch of short stories themed after each of the songs off Bruce Springsteen’s album, Nebraska

EM:  What is your favorite city to visit when you travel abroad? And why?
Oaxaca, Mexico, not the city per se. It’s really the beach of Oaxaca where it’s at for me.

EM:  What new projects you are building on right now?
Residing and photographing my travels through Texas, (I’m temporarily staying in Austin to escape the cold weather at my Brooklyn condo).
