Tintin’s 80th Birthday!

Can you believe it’s been 80 years to the day that Hergé introduced the world to his iconic gumshoe reporter, Tintin to the world?  The author first penned his loveable hero in the beligiska newspaper, Petit vingtième. Then the collection began with the first issue, Tintin in the Soviet and eventually grew into 24 classic graphic books featuring Hergé’s naive and eternally boyish journalist. One of my favorite issues, Le Lotus Bleu is still sitting on my dusty turn-of-the-century piano!

  1. I grew up watching Tintin when I lived in Africa and Europe. I still have the animated show that aired on French TV in the 80’s. I own a cop of Tintin in Tibet in both French & English.
