Victoria Beckham’s Interpretation
We are often quick to gripe and complain when influential individuals from different facets of our culture start sipping their own kool aid and ultimately slide off into “not what they were”-ness. I have personally endured many an argument (overheard, not involved in) concerning one gentleman in particular.
I mourn my old favorites as, in time, they start living out their fantasy and cease to fulfill mine, but you know in the end that’s how it’s supposed to be. The opposite side of getting rich, fat and disconnected is death and there are far too many people on the list that have left us too early. Instead I’d like to offer a little visual consolation, of an impression left indubitably on many of us, and the suggestion that we “have a little patience.”
I propose that when those people we’ve chosen to celebrate, slip off into “Howard Hughes-ville” we should just “LET THEM BE GREAT!” and enjoy the inspiration we’re left with, from the time before they became hype-pushers and self-jockers…
