Alexis Mabille 2009/2010

If tan’s the new black, 90s are the new 80s, and rounded sleeve’s the new puff, what’s the new cake? Ma chere, c’est les fleurs!  “Times are hard, but we mustn’t let darkness rule; we need flowers,” says Alexis Mabille Marie-Antoinette-style about his Automne/Hiver haute couture collection.  But a closer look says he spent more time sketching at le D’Orsay than Les Tuilieres.

Anything else you might want to find out about this tremendous heat of a song is google-able. But what the internet might not tell you about this jam, is the complete madness it did on dancefloors in the summer of 1996. Granted, it still works wonders to this day. During one particular club in ’96 called Blizzard, I was consistently able to see this hot butter joint cause dancefloor mayhem, which is saying a lot.
