GUAM by Brian Crumley
Accessories designer Brian Crumley collaborates with Urban Outfitters on a unique line of jewelry. GUAM, which stands for Global United Artisan Movement and is also the island where Crumley was born, is a sustainable collection of brightly colored bead and chain necklaces. Crumley worked with Made In Africa, bringing together a variety of recycled materials from Kenya to make each piece. Bold neon printed fabrics were combined with beads, metals, wood, and glass. "It was of utmost importance to us that we use the resources of the area," says Crumley.
"We realized straight away that this new marriage of indigenous materials and artisan craftsmanship would result in a product very appropriate for Urban Outfitters, given its youthful, artistic, and global feel," he adds. The designer, who usually sells at Bergdorf Goodman will sell his new line exclusively at Urban Outfitters. Priced at $28 for earrings, $34 for bracelets, and $38 for the necklaces, GUAM by Brian Crumley will be available from March 16.
