Growing Jewelry

The ever evolving theme of ‘going green’ has transpired from the automotive industry to architecture to fashion, amongst others. While various labels have incorporated the basic organic selection of denim and tops, product designer Hafsteinn Juliusson has emerged with “Growing Jewelry,” a fresh and innovative twist to the otherwise mundane brass knuckle ring that was sooo last season.

“Growing Jewelry is a redefinition of modern values. It is a clash of jewelry and gardening; couture and organism. The collection of this hand jewelry is designed for people in metropolitan cities and is an experiment in drawing nature toward man, as nature being the presupposition of life.”

“It is important to take good care of Growing Jewelry. The owner must water it regularly and nurture it like any other plant. So It’s up to the owner to make sure that the jewelery is at it’s best.”
