Each week I rip a song from vinyl and post it up here. This week brings us “Pay Ya Dues” by Low Profile. This song came out in 1989 and I have yet to hear another rap song about this topic (but feel free to correct me if I’m wrong). Paying dues never really end though, right?

Anyway, in this song W.C. raps about the thing that pisses him off the most; sucka MCs who think they’re high-post, but in reality they’ve just started rapping. I think it’d be interesting to hear Kanye do a 2009 version of this song. I’m a Ye fan and I’m not saying he just started rapping, but if he did a song like this, I think he could create an ultimate paradox universe and minds would explode. Hey Ye, you should make a west coast gangster rap video for it and get rid of the homophobic references too. Seriously.
