Don Letts was one of the ultimate British punk insiders, both running the trendy London boutique Acme Attractions and DJing at the Roxy, the short-lived venue where most of the performances in his vital Super-8 document The Punk Rock Movie were recorded.  This, his first film, is an effervescent ground-zero take on one of the hottest flashpoints in all of 20th-century music

Castiglione Morelli Design – Bulb Sound Kit

The Castiglione Morelli Design studio has a new project in the works which allows you to transform any lamp into a speaker. Without need for an external power source, the Altec Lansing Bulb-Sound-Speaker screws onto a lamp (in lieu of a lightbulb) and receives music by way of a Bluetooth transmitter that attaches to an iPod.

Thumbs Up! America

Since Jack Kerouac traveled from coast to cast to reveal the weirdness and fringe culture of America, the cross-country road trip has been a distinctly American tradition.

The Agency Uses Facebook

Founder of Facebook, Mark Zuckerberg (AP Photos)

The other night, a friend of mine brought up the topic of Facebook’s CIA conspiracy theory over dinner.  Within the group of twenty-something year olds at the dinner gathering, he was the last person to join Facebook in fear of the “government having access to his personal and private life”. My curiosity of this conspiracy theory lead to searches on Google and Wikipedia last night.  After reading a few interesting websites and articles, I came upon a recently published article featured in US News about the NSA using Facebook as a recruiting tool

Smashbox Bionic Mascara

Parking tickets.  Mixed bathroom lines.  Getting a free drink.  There are lots of situations that call upon your female powers of persuasion, but with all that eyelash batting you’re starting to lose steam.  Luckily, Smashbox can up your performance in one fell sweep.

I’m curious to hear Röyksopp’s new album, Junior. “Happy Up Here” is the first single and the album is scheduled to be out March 23rd. A bunch of people know them from that song in the Geico commercial (myself included). I like “Sparks” too.

For weary travelers looking for a hotel stay that offers more than basic cable T.V. and continental breakfast, California hoteliers are offering more than the typical check-in, check-out experience.

If anyone could possibly ignore the adorable bevy of kids sandwiching Yohji Yamamoto as he made his runway turn for the recent Fall 2009 Y-3 show I’d like to know who. The brainchild of the Japanese designer and sports brand Adidas are launching a children’s collection for their sportswear meets style

What A Crazy World

kounosuke_kawakami_07

A few days a week, I usually do a stroll through the internet in the search of some interesting artwork.  I don’t know too much about certain artists or their so-called styles, but great artwork is great artwork.
