Jennifer Skupin at Maxalot (Amsterdam)

Bang, You're Dead
Taking on the world with her high-concept art, Jennifer Skupin will be unveiling her latest installation exhibit, “Bang, You’re Dead,” at the Maxalot HQ in Amsterdam. This latest installation explores the human disposition toward war despite all its hellish and destructive power. One piece has visitors engaging in a large-scale pillow fight, with star-shaped pillows made of old discarded army blankets. Other works explore childhood and violence with a thematic recurrence of war toys, a curious phenomenon that hides the human inclination toward the violent and bellicose.

Skupin’s imagination has taken on other worldly issues like global warming and the decline of species diversity. She’s produced eco-friendly product designs, knitted pullovers for penguins and found a way to turn a book back into a tree.
