Each week I rip a song from vinyl and post it up here. Sometimes I’ll ask a guest to do a post. Someone who I think will have an interesting record collection. This week I’m very pleased to introduce Comel. He’s known for his music with Time Machine and Nine:Fifteen. His song for us today is “The Company” by Sam Prekop:

Sam Prekop is the Don Megatron, the king of cool (please God let me be this cool). The only artist whose lyrics aren’t complete thoughts, but words manage to fall in the right place every time on every song on every album. The boy is bad. Sam is the lead singer for the group, “The Sea and Cake,” and as pitchfork has put it, these guys are too smart to make a truly bad album. I only hope to be as cool as this mother f&*#r. His self-titled album is a f’ing classic and his second album Who’s Your New Professor went over my head until ’08. This dude truly kills them softly like someone gently rubbing your arm 3 million times until it’s bruised. This track, “The Company” speaks for itself.” -Comel
