There are some things we enjoyed in our childhood that should just be left alone by Hollywood. But with the incredible advances in special effects and cinematography there are some subjects of nostalgia I don’t regret being put on the silver screen, a prime example being Transformers. I have a sneaking suspicion Where the Wild Things Are will be the same. →
We live in a society where pop music, with catchy choruses and recycled beats, saturate our airwaves. Fortunately, for music goers, legends such as Bob Dylan and Elvis Costello offer quality music, one that over time never loses its authenticity. Procuring music that sustains the passing trends is difficult, but nonetheless, possible. Celebrating the musicianship of famed artists and the traditions of our musical ancestors provides contemporary artists with inspiration, knowledge and tools to continue to sculpt music with texture and vibrancy. Kenneth Pattengale is one artist whose work merits the same praise. →

Silverlake Wine, a marvelously relevant boutique wine store finally decided to expand their weekly wine tasting — usually on-site at their Silverlake store location — to include Wednesday flight nights at the premier Standard Hotel in Downtown L.A. The residency will be every Wednesday night from 5pm until 8pm and they will be hosting an uber-chill and relaxed tasting of three wines paired with three gourmet cheeses in the plush lobby bar of the Downtown Standard. →

LA is dope because it has so many different pockets, and I dig a lot of neighborhoods for various reasons. But I actually identify with the working class neighborhoods more, like Inglewood or Mid-City, where I stay now. →
