Fall Into The Gap…Again

gap.jpg gap2.jpg If there is one entity that has redefined itself almost as much as Madonna, it's the Gap. From their humble beginnings in the late 60's as an outfitter catering to the more youthful consumers of the Levi's denim fashion movement, the company has taken on as many different personas as they have cuts in jeans (I think it would probably be to all of our benefits to forget the khaki-clad swing dancers of the late 90's...am I right?). According to current creative director Patrick Robinson, the company is repositioning itself as a more international brand with new focuses on designs by European and Japanese teams and it's evident that this newest round of Gap looks have a decidedly more Euro edge. Less khaki and white dress shirt "Americana" and more sportswear urban, the range of stovepipe trousers, chunky knits and layers upon layers were right in line with Fall's tailored, toned down aesthetics. gap3.jpg gap4.jpg gap5.jpg gap6.jpg gap7.jpg gap8.jpg
