“Facing Ali” Trailer

Looks like Tyson‘s going to have to share the spotlight.  A very interesting approach to look deeper at the man many consider as one of the greatest fighters who ever lived.  To some he is an athlete–to others a hero.  Today Muhammad Ali is a symbol of courage, heart, defiance, flair, and strength and is tied with Babe Ruth as the most recognizable athlete in America (97% of Americans recognize Ali!).  In Facing Ali, Pete McCormack (writer/director of Uganda Rising) rekindles the legend of Ali by going to the men who stood toe-to-toe with the champ.

“The Reeling”

Yesterday, Passion Pit unveiled the video for first Manners single and current internet fave, “The Reeling” exclusively on MTVU. Always ones for engaging visuals, the Boston electro-bliss follow the surreal stop-mo animation of “Sleepyhead” with an equally stunning, effects-aided affair. Perez Hilton: Miss CA is a Dumb Bitch

Perez Hilton Calls Carrie Prejean a Dumb Bitch

Perez Hilton asked Miss California during the 2009 Miss USA Pageant a question about gay marriage in the video above. Carrie Prejean’s response has angered many, including Mr. Hilton himself.  According to Perez, she gave “the worse answer in pageant history” to out shine former Miss Teen North Carolina’s answer in 2007. Two years ago, America witnessed Lauren Caitlin speaking in jibberish, when she answered

“Miracle at St. Anna” DVD Review

miraclestanna_1

From the first time I saw the trailer for this film I had high expectations.  It had barely been three years since Spike Lee surprised critics with Inside Man, where he paired the talents of Denzel Washington and Clive Owen in a film that seemed to indicate the infamous director was just getting started.  Miracle at St. Anna appeared to have the makings of a truly epic work that would showcase some of Lee’s true ability.

My World

Lee Fields - My World

Lee Fields & The Expressions
Truth & Soul
(2009)

When did R&B music become so effete? Maybe it was the damage done by groups like Boyz II Men during the ’90s, when the genre had some of its most cringe-worthy, emasculated moments.  The recent slew of R&B releases, in the form of acts like T-Pain, is a far cry from ’60s and ’70s funk, R&B and soul, when music was free of Auto-Tune and full of vigor. Musicality and chemistry created some of the most memorable American groups of the past century,

Postopolis! LA – Part 3

drinks

Its Saturday the last day of Postopolis! LA, if possible I would love for it to continue indefinitely, however commuting Downtown from the Valley was beginning to tire me out. Today though I still had energy left and set out for Downtown and Central Library where a friend was part of an event launching SurveyLA.
