Willard Wigan is a British sculptor whose work cannot be seen by the naked eye. To precisely carve out his figures, he uses a surgical blade to make sculptures as small as .005 mm (small enough to fit on the head of a pin). Ever-conscientious, Wigan paints his sculptures using only the hairs of flies that have died from natural causes. His sculptures have ranged from pop culture iconography (The Simpsons) to historical figures (Malcolm X). →
Amir H. Fallah of Beautiful/Decay magazine and creative agency Something in the Universe presents “Eclipse (Watch Tower).” The piece is a mixed media installation built along two stories of the Sharjah Art Museum in Dubai as part of the gallery’s biennial.
