Hey guys, New York – Tokyo along with UNIQLO is excited to announce the UNIQLO PAC-MAN CHALLENGE and they’ve picked their favorite companies to battle for the highest score for the classic arcade game!  Evil Monito Magazine decided to take on the challenge against some of the best and brightest, including Lime Wire, Hypebeast, Pitchfork Media, Complex and Vapor Magazine.

The classic game will be played online for preliminaries and the finals will be held at UNIQLO Soho, 546 Broadway in NYC. If you’re not a “company” and wish to join the challenge, you are still welcome to join the competition on June 19th!  THe UNIQLO PAC-MAN CHALLENGE is inspired by the fun UT PAC-MAN T-shirt designs and is supported by Namco Networks’ special technical support.

WHEN / WHERE?
(1) Preliminal Rounds (Company vs. Company)
Dates: June 8th (Mon) – 14th (Sun)

(2) Finals (Company vs. Company) with Walk-In Challenge
Date: June 19 (Fri) 4-8pm
Place: UNIQLO Soho, 546 Broadway, NYC

WHO?  The Company Participants include:
Anime News Network, Blacksmith, Complex, Evil Monito, Freshness, Fusicology, Giant Robot,  Giant Step, Gizmodo. Going, Hypebeast, Josh Spear, Lime Wire, NY Comic Con, New York Press, Pitchfork, The Source, psfk, superfuture, Trace, UGO, Vapors, Vinyl Pulse East

Walk-in Challengers:
Can come directly to the event on June 19th at UNIQLO Soho, 546 Broadway (RSVP required)

WHAT / HOW?
(1) Preliminary Rounds
• Companies will pick two representatives for their teams. The best of each team’s scores will
be chosen for submission.
• Participants will download a NYT customized version of PAC-MAN onto their PC for free.
Players MUST have internet access in order for their scores to be recorded.
• Scores will be tracked and posted daily on the NYT masthead.
• The Top 10 teams will continue on to the Finals.

(2) The Finals
• Finalists will compete on June 19th at the UNIQLO Soho, 546 Broadway on arcade machines.
• Scores of each teams’ players will be added together and recorded for a final high-score total.
*Walk-in Challenge
• Challenge will be open to the general public as well, and begin after the Finals (Company x
Company) have ended. In order to participate as a competitor for the Walk-In Challenge, you
must RSVP on www.newyork-tokyo.com/wp/pacman/ (limited to 30 challengers, RSVP will
close when 30 challengers are reached)
