On the Flipside

College friends Ken Leung and Dana Chin left their finance jobs, dropped out of their jewelry 101 class at FIT and instead decided they wanted to do things on their own terms. In 2004 they hooked up with like-minded designer Doori Chung and worked collaboration pieces for her Spring ‘05 runway show. From there the duo has expanded their jewelry endeavor into two lines: “BYLU” consisting of intricate, organic fine jewelry and my personal favorite “b-side”, a fashion oriented collection based on the bold elements of graffiti.

Displaying their ability to create both beautiful and edgy pieces, Ken & Dana Design has been heralded by magazines like W, Lucky, Vogue, Bazaar and NYLON and it’s easy to see why. Their ability to appeal to a wide range of aesthetics on both the high and low end not only confirms their talents as designers, but also their attention to broadening the scope of consumers exposed to their work. Ken and Dana also have a project called “Design Battle” where each week they launch a new graffiti-inspired design and offer it to their customers for special prices. Sign up for their email alerts to stay up to date on the design duo’s multitude of cool projects!
