Fantastic Planet

 

I watched this film, Fantastic Planet this past weekend. I had a cerebral out of mind experience watching this. This film was released in 1973, post Vietnam War era and was lauded the Grand Jury Award during the Cannes Film Festival. I highly recommend you all to watch this!

  1. This is one my favorite animated features! A sci-fi psychedelic world rich with insight and imagination. The plot (adapted from French novelist, Stefan Wul) begs the existential question of what it really means to be a conscious, sentient being. Coupled with a haunting atmosphere created by the beautiful orchestral funk (of Alain Goraguer) that permeates the scenes with sensuality and purpose.
