Fresh Out the Box

If you thought blinding white shoes were only important in the hood, think again.  The New York Times has been hitting some serious home runs with their fashion and style section recently and their latest work is no exception.  They recently documented a growing trend in a short and sweet little article about white bucks (and their close relatives the saddle shoe and chukka boot).

The white buck is not only a perfect summer shoe (it definitely should be on your summer shopping list) but is an excellent addition to your footwear arsenal for a number of reasons.  It is a versatile shoe which can easily be worn in formal, semi-casual, or casual situations.  Wear them with high patterned-socks or no socks at all, pair them with slacks or shorts, the white bucks give you 100% in any combination.  The white color is an immediate attention-grabber that looks crisp and pleasing, while at the same time holding far more subtle qualities that create a sense of sophistication and playfulness.  Keep them immaculately white or scuff away for a look that carries a great deal of character.  Fear not mild-mannered citizens, the white buck is an equal opportunity employer: it will instantly upgrade style points regardless of your size, shape, or color.  White bucks will not help the economy, but you will when you buy them.  As I said before, if you’ve been searching for a summer shoe, this could definitely be it.
