Take a peek at the new URSUS Bape collection, designed by Tetsu Nishiyama (Tet) of WTAPS. He is a leading figure in the field of streetwear, and is known for fusing the aesthetics of Western and Japanese style to the streets of Harajuku. He is not only the founder and designer for WTAPS, he is also currently the director for Blackflag in Aoyama and Hoods in Tokyo. Tetsu or “Tet” has taken the role as chief creative director for the new URSUS Bape line for Fall/Winter 2009, which is an extension of the collaboration t-shirts available through the Bape Japan website. With Tetsu on board, he’s wasted no time in customizing the line to suit his tastes. The well-known Bape general logo has changed to a skull, representing the motif for the URSUS logo. The new line consists of dark pop art inspired designs as well as authentic work, military, and outdoor inspired pieces which seems to be a respectable transition from the pastel bright colors and animated designs that Bape was famous for in the past. The line already consists of a pretty good lineup of clothing, accessories and shoes. The URSUS collection is sure to grow in the next coming months so make sure to check it out.
