Don’t mind the tacky Myspace layout and Angelfire “fan” website of electronic duo Teengirl Fantasy, the bedroom project of Ohio students Logan Takahashi and Nick Weiss. The two craft pulsating 8-bit rhythms informed by bass-heavy house and dub music. “Portofino” is part of Dublab and Anticon‘s In the Loop vinyl compilation, the fifth installment of new music from diverse genres and regions. Its soothing arpeggios and foot-stopping bass make this a formidable track for the summer.

Other artists in the fifth volume of In the Loop include The Ruby Suns (New Zealand), Hecuba (L.A.), Zackey Force Funk (Tucson, AZ) and Lucky Dragons (L.A.). This is the first collaborative release between Dublab and Anticon, with a limited vinyl relase of 1,000 copies.
