The images of this series honour the works of historical painters such as Velazquez, El Greco or Zurbarán, to whom refers Erwin Olaf. His models have the elegance of Menines of the royal court of Spain, fabrics are shining and postures are completely similar whith that of the original figures. Erwin Olaf masters details and manages to capture the light as old masters did. He also pursued a research to have the same deep colors as in the classical paintings. Nevertheless Olaf’s works are not only about reproducing the works of his predecessors. Every time, he introduces details and accessories specifics of our time.
