(2009)

Triorganico executes a delicate blend of romanticism and wistfulness in their debut album Convinencia. Going beyond the sonic regiment, the Los Angeles trio that comprises Triorganico successfully translates the spirit of Brazil. Swaying between soft bossa nova sets and jazz inspired balladries, Triorganico’s seductive and beautiful arrangements correspond in a fluid manner. Symphonized by breezy woodwinds, whimsical guitar strokes and subtle vibrations of the ride-cymbal, Convinencia simultaneously sooths and elevates the soul. A cool swagger permeates throughout- indulging in lulling melodies and dreamy compositions. In “Kathy,” Pablo Calogero lures listeners with the sax while Fabiano do Nascimento harmoniously plucks the guitar. Following in its footsteps, “Tempo De Amor” and “25 De Octobre Nosalgia” evoke a meditative response with cascading flutes and melodic guitar stringing, while equally adding a Spanish flair. In unison, Ricardo “Tiki” Pasilles revels in feint percussion instrumentation in “December 23″ and “After Thought,” creating a lounge-like experience. Although serving as a brief interlude, “Balloons” sets the pace for the remaining of the album, channeling an indigenous quality where the acoustics meander through rattles and dramatic snares.  Altogether, Triorganico delivers a nourishing musical body. And luckily, we were invited to the dinner party.
