Wanderlust Festival Day 3

Wanderlust Festival – Lake Tahoe, CA

Live Review: 7/26/09

***

After Girl Talk’s hipster spring break, day two was decidedly slower for yours truly…It started with a soak in the hot tub, and the executive decision to skip Vinnie Chase and the Chasers (Adrian Grenier’s band, The Honey Bros.) in favor of the U.S. vs. Mexico soccer game.

Q&A:Thieves

elise02web2These days, the next fashion trend is sustainable materials and green environmentalism.  Sonja Den Elzen was ahead of her time with her line Thieves, which debuted in 2006. Soft flowy materials, drapery cowling, classic with a subtle edge and asymmetrical cutting are hallmarks of the line.  I spoke with Sonja and here is what she had to say :

EM Occupation and Position

While those in the First World enjoy clean, potable tap water pumped directly into their homes, the same does not apply for many Third World communities in the world. We can send people to the moon, create artificial organs and develop supernatural human beings, but clean drinking water remains elusive to over a billion people, two million of which include children who die from an unclean water supply.

One of the founding members of the Wu-Tang Clan, Russell Tyrone Jones took on one of the most outsized and perplexing personas of hip-hop as Ol’ Dirty Bastard (ODB). During his career, ODB aka Dirt McGirt aka Big Baby Jesus never seemed to exist outside of character, a full-time comic performer and bizarro lyricist whose profane delivery made him the Wu-Tang Clan’s most memorable and outrageous member.
