Behind the lense of Light Graffiti

LAPP- PRO (Light Art Performance Photography) captures light in a magnetic form, illuminating scene settings in photographs and developing stories with each stroke of light. The masterminds behind this photographic technique, German born Jan Wöllert and Jörg Miedza, both play around with movement of light, adding volume, intrigue and narration to the photographs. Just as graffiti introduces color to a muted wall, the lit-up figures bring substance to its alien environment.

A variety of “light sources,” ranging from flash lights to LED strobe lights, are positioned in front of the lens, adding an entirely new element to the photo. The single-shot images are produced by long time exposure cameras so that the perfect blend between light and motion creates a captivating piece. And the pair pride themselves in the fact that not a single photo has been manipulated by the computer.

We welcome you to the futuristic world of Jan and Jörg.
