Cakes Gone Wild

Bad cakes beware – Jen Yates will find you and post you on Cakewrecks, disgraced icing and all. You may even make print if you’re just that bad.

The blog was born May 2008 when Yates’ friend emailed her a picture of the now-infamous Walmart cake. “My friend knew I had been taking these cake decorating classes so she sent me this picture,” Yates said. “It hit me this was hilarious.”

Over one year and 8,000 cakes later, Yates has established a loyal online following of those interested in cakes of all sorts, from the creepy and bizarre, to the “just plain funny,” to specific categories (among the noteworthy: feet cakes, celebrities, and wedding cakes).

Yates will be on a book tour beginning next week. Copies of her book can be purchased through Amazon, Barnes & Noble, IndieBound and Borders.
