Considering the state of affairs our country is currently in, we're all well aware of the fact that business and ethos aren't always two things that go hand in hand. However there is a movement of artisans such as Brit designer
Anthony Roussel who are working hard towards putting the consciousness back into beauty and Roussel's wicked cool rings and bangles make for a good starting point. Sourcing Brich from Finland, Cork from Portugal, and Maple from North America, Roussel can trace the origins of all the materials he uses to create his gravity-defying pieces. Working closely with the suppliers from each area to ensure for maximum sustainability in his resources, Roussel also takes care to finish off his products with all-natural, milk based paints that are non-allergenic. The designer walked away with the Innovation prize at the 10th Inhorgenta design podium awards in Munich this year and continues to experiment in applying methods such as rapid prototyping, laser etching and water jet cutting to the craft of jewelry design. Innovative, eco-conscious, forward thinking and beautiful? It's almost too good to be true...

Roussel currently has two exhibitions on display in London:
Aug. 15th - Oct. 31st -
Manchester Craft and Design Center
Sept. 17th - Oct. 17th -
Electrum Gallery
