Nisennenmondai prefer playing music over talking, and if you listen to the way Sayaka Himeno (drums), Yuri Zaikawa (bass) and Masako Takada (guitar) communicate on their latest record Destination Tokyo, it’s understandable. Over ten years ago, they met in college and started a band without having played much music. A decade later, they consistently put on shows that are loud and enervating, with music that sounds like the noise of robots psionically mindfucking each other. →
Photographer Bobby Neel Adams avoids the use of Photoshop in his work, relying instead on manual excision, defacement and montage. In “Reskinning Nature,” Adams reimagines the texture of trees by “surgically” replacing their natural bark surfaces with different patterns, colors and materials. Corrugated iron and wood grain mix in a collage of textures that would make unsuspecting viewers do a double take. →

The Saints are finally back? Is it true? Troy Duffy’s mercurial rise and fall from fame and favor could not overshadow the popularity of his sleeper hit The Boondock Saints, which despite an extremely limited theatrical release grew to become one of the most talked about cult classics of our time. Hate it or love it, The Boondock Saints has become a tenured member on the film-buff required viewing list.
