Main Street: An Exhibition of New Video and Animation
Los Angeles, CA
10/24/09
***
Gallery Space presents Main Street, the latest exhibition curated by Jacob Kramer, co-founder of FAMILY bookstore and Hope Gallery which will open on October 24th. The exhibition will be featuring a collection of various video art and animation from contemporary artists including Miranda July, Spike Jonze, and Peter Sutherland. Designer Brian Roettinger will be collecting and publishing the exhibition as a DVD compilation for sale for those of you that want to take the gallery home with you.

The videos at the exhibition vary from the documentary-style mountain biking travelogue of Andrew Sutherland to the psychedelically patterned color abstractions of Andrew Jeffrey Wright and Kris Moyes.

In addition, Miranda July explores the world of meditiation on tribal drumming and Peter Sutherland re-enacts a dream where teenagers bring havoc to NYC. Want more? Jacob Ciocci of Paper Rad creates his own version of bedroom freak dancers on Youtube with neon animations. Not to forget, Melanie Bonajo records a deadpan conversation between two women with household items tied their limbs. These are just a handful of the artists who will be presenting their videos at the exhibition. Check out this unique opportunity but make sure you go with an open mind.
