Bloggomist: Today’s Dish/Yesterday’s Spam

There’s a good chance if you’re reading this, you’re a relatively intelligent and artsy introvert who, more often than not, plops down in front a computer only to find that two hours later, you’ve accomplished really nothing except discovered some new content online and perhaps acquired a need for eye bleach.

If you aren’t such a person, I can help you with that. Except hopefully, you won’t need the eye bleach afterwards.

Every Thursday, I promise to deliver to you something on the web that you really should see. Usually it will be something wonderful, entertaining (or at least, mildly entertaining) I’ve found while spending quality time with my laptop and trusty Google Reader.

For example, I don’t know Damien Walters, but he certainly is entertaining in a very seriously badass way. Aren’t you glad you watched that video? We should all be aware of the possible existence of closet ninjas among us. And I’m not sure how a ten-minute bullet impact video can be as mesmerizing as it is (maybe it’s the music), but you have to admit, if you clicked on the link, you watched it for at least a minute or two.

But every so often, however, something so strange, terrible or foul will pass by that just can’t be ignored. Some of these things deserve follow up because they are truly too tragic to forget, and I hope to be able to bring you that as well. The power of the online medium is that we can witness some truly evil events, but without further action or thought, we become just a little bit more desensitized and a little less human.

So that’s it for this week. I’m always interested in what you’ve found during the week, so please don’t hesitate to send me leads. And remember, practice safe browsing – always look both ways before entering a website and never run with links.
