The Dublab presents Secondhand Sureshots, a mini-documentary following four L.A. beatmakers and their crate-digging safari through the city’s thrift shops. Daedelus, Nobody, J-Rocc and Ras G browse for old records and pick out five pieces that they produce into fresh beats. The resulting effort is a DVD of the film and a 12-inch Picture Disc featuring artwork screen-printed by the folks at Hit+Run, who scoured over 500 gatefold LP covers for their new designs. Featuring over two hours of footage, music and bonus material, Secondhand Sureshots is an inspiring project that demonstrates the possibilities of creative recycling.
Secondhand Sureshots will be released Feb. 9, 2010 as DVD & CD. The Deluxe Super Set contains the following:
DVD - Secondhand Sureshots the film
RECORD – 12-inch Picture Disc, original music by Daedelus, J-Rocc, Nobody and Ras G, plus a megamix by Kutmah
SLEEVES – Hand-screened gatefold LP sleeves individually printed by Hit+Run
