Victory or Death

Robert Diggs from Staten Island is a man who has had quite an intimate relationship with music for the past 20 years and still going strong. Robert is the RZA, the musical visionary and mastermind behind one of the most revolutionary movements in the history of popular culture. As the de-facto leader of the Wu-Tang Clan, the group took hip hop to a whole new level of which he wrote The Wu-Tang Manual. Not only did he produce music and write books, he is also a legitimate actor in the film, American Gangster and has also composed music for the movie, Kill Bill.

On January 1, 2010, WAIL (When Art Imitates Life) commemorates twenty years of the living legend with the release of Victory or Death, a highly limited product of fine art. Details about Victory or Death are being kept on the down low, as well as the concepts behind the release. All we know is that it’s promised to be a “reworking” of history onto a massive canvas that focuses on the concept of “hearing the call” and revolution in an inspiring and provocative way. There will be 360 prints available to the public which will be released on New Year’s Day of 2010. The origins of Victory or Death began earlier this year as RZA started conceptualizing with WAIL, a company owned by legendary hip-hop statesmen Sway And King Tech of The World Famous Wake Up Show along with notorious Los Angeles creativity house SceneFour. WAIL focuses on creating fine art with musical visionaries and will be releasing Victory or Death as the first under their art label.
