Chase the Tear

Portishead are releasing their newest track, “Chase the Tear”, created for Amnesty International, which will first be aired in the UK on Zane Lowe’s BBC Radio 1 show and radio stations around the world on December 9th, the eve of international human rights day from 7 P.M. to 9 P.M. In case you guys are wondering, the title, “Chase the Tear” is a reference to a paper tear-style “tear”, not a boo-hoo tear.

With all earnings going towards Amnesty’s human rights work and all rights given to the organisation, the track will be available as an exclusive download single here from December 10th. Make sure you check out their video of “Chase the Tear”, which will also be available on December 10th at www.amnesty.org.uk/portishead and at www.portishead.co.uk

International human rights day celebrates the anniversary of the United Nation’s historic “Universal Declaration Of Human Rights” which was created on December 10th 1948. In a single document, the UDHR set out the fundamental rights to which everybody and anybody in the world is entitled, which include the right to life, liberty, securtity, the freedoms of opinion, association and expression, and the right not to be subjected to torture or cruel, inhumane and degrading treatment. Now that’s something we can celebrate.
