With such a successful and sold-out first Annual Hip Hop Karaoke Championship at Highline Ballroom, Hip Hop Karaoke is back to bring you more this year. New York’s most popular hip-hop event presents the 2010 Hip Hop Karaoke Championship at New York’s Irving Plaza on January 29th. The event will feature the top 12 contestants of Hip Hop Karaoke, battling it out for crash prizes in front of celebrity judges who are soon to be announced.

Hip Hop Karaoke which was started in Decenmber 2004, takes the traditional concept of karaoke and transforms it into a whole new experience (none of that “Ice Ice Baby” over a fake beat in the back of the bar). Hip Hop Karaoke uses none other than the original instrumentals and hosts ensure that every participant stays on track.

In the past month, the organizers held two Regional Championships in Brooklyn and Manhattan, with the highest-scoring competitors advancing to the Championship. At the Championship, performers will select their choice of song from the song list of over 300 classic and current hip-hop songs. After three rounds, the winner of Hip Hop Karaoke will receive a $1,000 cash prize.

Hip Hop Karaoke has given thousands of people the opportunity to witness, participate in, this celebration of hip-hop; it’s no wonder this event is New York’s most popular hip-hop event. This event has been visited by Jeru the Damaja, Pete Rock, Rhymefest, Big Daddy Kane, just to name a few. Everyone from XXL to Spin to New York magazine has sung HHK’s praises and is sure to be a success this year.
