CINEMA TUESDAYS at Nike Sportswear at The Montalbán captures your heart in January with an advance screening of Youth in Revolt on Tuesday, January 5, 2010. Curated by Flux, the highly successful CINEMA TUESDAYS film series has featured premieres and advance screenings of some of the most-talked about films.
Please join us for an exclusive screening of director Miguel Arteta’s (“The Good Girl”) new film, Youth in Revolt – a coming-of-age comedy that puts a fresh and outrageous stamp on a tale of adolescent obsession and rebellion. The night will include a special musical performance by “Paris loves L.A.” featuring Adele Jacques and cocktails by Belvedere Vodka. All members of the press are invited to attend this special event.
Starring Michael Cera (also of the award-winning film, “Juno”, and “Superbad”) and based on the acclaimed novel by C.D. Payne, Youth in Revolt is the story of Nick Twisp – a unique, but affable teen with a taste for the finer things in life like Sinatra and Fellini – who falls hopelessly in love with the beautiful, free-spirited Sheeni Saunders (Portia Doubleday) while on a family vacation. But family, geography and jealous ex-lovers conspire to keep these two apart. With Sheeni’s encouragement, Nick abandons his dull, predictable life and develops a rebellious alter ego: Francois. With his ascot, his moustache and his cigarette, Francois will stop at nothing to be with Sheeni, and leads Nick Twisp on a path of destruction with unpredictable and uproarious consequences.
A Dimension Films release, Youth in Revolt opens in Los Angeles theatres on January 8, 2010.
