Inspired by the Minutemen song, Evil Monito’s “Tour Spiel” provides an intimate look into the musician’s tumultuous life on the road. Each week, we’ll check in with some of our favorite artists touring stateside or abroad and find out what it’s like to be packed in a van or waiting at the baggage claim for hours on end. It’s ultimately the memorable experiences with friends that make life on the road rewarding, or at the very least interesting. This week it’s the alluring songstress, Via Tania who admits that although she’s traveling the globe, she’s secretly a homebody with a penchant for knitting and long introspective moments. →

Birdfeeders creating a new species of birds in the U.K.? Whoa, hold up. Nowadays, putting up a bird-feeder in your backyard to treat the little ones is apparently no longer an innocent act of love but comes with unexpected repercussions that none of us were ready for. The European blackcap bird’s natural instinct has historically been to migrate to Spain to spend their winters to feed on fruits and berries but the rise of bird-feeders in the UK has changed →
With just a hook and some yarn, a group of women in Northern Uganda gather in a brick hut and start crocheting hats and sweaters. Currently, it may only produce enough power to heat an electric kettle, but Norway’s Statkraft says that its new, first-of-its-kind osmotic power plant could be producing as much energy as a small wind farm by 2015, and continue to grow.
The Bloggomist: Three Times a Trend
Fashion Opinion
Over the last year or so there’s been a strange evolution unfolding in my midst. Instead of staying out until 4am, wrestling myself up at 8 and dripping coffee intravenously throughout the day in a feeble attempt to survive, I am instead getting 7-9 beautiful hours of sleep and waking up (marginally less distraught) to green tea →
This captivating short by Ayaka Nakata displays “abstract movement and sound” in an unsettling and provcative way. With an almost disquieting and ambigious quality, the cartoon draws the viewer in with its subtle use of dance choreography and intriguing musical arrangements. →
