Let’s Write A Book

England’s Field Music recently returned to the studio after a three-year hiatus in which brothers Peter and David Brewis pursued solo careers rejecting the indie band format. Over the years, they’ve been renewing their creative energies through unconventional projects, like the murder mystery concept album Linn Drum, Fairlight (2008).

Performing as The Week That Was, the brothers took their marimba across the world before reconvening last year for a new Field Music record. Two new members, Kev Dosdale (guitar and keyboard) and Ian Black (bass), joined the lineup in time for this year’s 20-track double album Field Music (Measure), released by Memphis Industries/Revolver.

The above video playfully pits pop art collage against the band’s new single “Let’s Write a Book.” Field Music will tour a series of festivals in Great Britain before performing a slew of dates in the U.S. starting September.
