On Saturday, October 2, A&I Lab, Los Angeles, will host the first exhibition of work by all 2010 Edition One Hundred artists. The exhibition is designed to introduce the public to the brand by showcasing the luxurious production and knockout content of astoundingly affordable art. Edition One Hundred has partnered with A&I Lab, the largest photographic and digital services lab on the west coast, to produce the photo-based fine art prints available for sale.

A Concert of New Classical Music

The Orchestra Unleashed
El Portal Theatre – Los Angeles, CA
9/11 to 9/12/10

The Orchestra Unleashed, a concert of new classical music for the orchestra, will take place September 11 and 12 at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood, CA. The Saturday, September 11 concert is at 8:00pm and the Sunday, September 12 concert is at 2:00pm. Ticket prices are $25 for adults and $15 for students and are available for purchase at the theatre website. There are a limited number of in-orchestra seats available. This unique experience gives audiences the opportunity to sit with the orchestra, immersed in the music. These tickets are $100 and only available at www.theorchestraunleashed.com.

Time Won’t Tell

From El-P’s album of instrumental suites comes this video of “Time Won’t Tell,” an understated track with a simple guitar riff and beat. Director Shan Nicholson reconstructs a memory from his childhood in New York, where children had to use their imaginations to make something of their bleak urban surroundings. In this exhibition, Shinique Smith will use MOCA’s flexible gallery space to explore new ways of working and installing her work. Part of MOCA’ s Knight Exhibition Series, Shinique Smith: Menagerie will include installations, works on paper, and video from 2002 to the present. Shinique Smith: Menagerie is organized by the Museum of Contemporary Art, North Miami in association with Madison Museum of Contemporary Art and is curated by MOCA, North Miami Executive Director and Chief Curator Bonnie Clearwater.
