Earnest Endeavours Presents An Exciting 2 Part Event
Protein Gallery – London, U.K.
1/19/11
Having debuted Nosaj Thing’s Live show alongside Free The Robots, Fair Enough and Deadly Rhythm back in October, the Earnest Endeavours team up with the legendary screenprinting crew and label, Hit+Run, along with the incredibly talented artist/DJ/producer Justin McNulty aka Kutmah. The event represents the merging of future music & art in London’s most interesting underground spaces.
So EE will be throwing a two-part event next WEDNESDAY 19th JANUARY. Part 1 sees us launching Kutmah’s Solo Art Exhibition, and Part 2 is the after party – celebrating Kutmah’s ‘The New Error Mix CD’ and also EE’s first music project – Jams ‘A Heart Breaking Work of Swagger & G Ness’ Mixtape.
Alongside Kutmah himself and residents Patchwork Pirates, guests at the after party include Brainfeeder youngun Teebs (LIVE), flying in from LA for this exclusive date and the incredible talents of Dorian Concept (LIVE) alongside the live debut solo show from Jams. On the night you’ll be able to cop copies of the above Ltd Edition CDs and also Tees form Hit+Run who’ll be screenprinting live in the space.

Justin “Kutmah” McNulty was born in the UK to an Egyptian mother and Scottish father. He moved to the US when he was 12-years-old. Without advance warning nor any provoking criminal activity, on 5th May 2010, seven armed federal agents entered his house, handcuffed and detained him. With no calls allowed to family or lawyers, Kutmah was brought to a facility in downtown LA where he was interrogated regarding immigration issues. On 7th May he was flown to a New Mexico prison where he was locked down until his release (almost two months later) on 29th June. Kutmah was deported to the UK where he currently resides, and cannot legally re-enter the United States.
Whilst detained under conditions akin to a federal prison – one hour of daylight allowed per day, lights on at 4am – Kutmah sought solace in art, drawing to keep sane with only a short pencil and ID card. The frustrated, emotional and powerful results of Kutmah’s imprisonment ordeal have come to fruition with “Two Soups & A Honeybun”, the full collection of 39 drawings Kutmah created in prison, presented by VTech, screen print crew Hit+Run, music and art label Earnest Endeavours and Protein’s brand new project space, Protein Gallery.
