Last year’s team-up with our friends in found footage fevery and thievery, This 4th of July weekend, The Cinefamily has teamed up with those maestros of found footage comedy at Everything Is Terrible!,! for the second time to present Everything is Festival 2011 — an insane and eclectic five day celebration of everything we both love: discovery, weirdness, and just plain fun.

The lineup includes “keynote” speaker Mark Hosler from Negativland, Andrew W.K. delivering his legendary motivational speech, a tribute to the Firesign Theatre, Neil Hamburger dipping into his personal collection of obscure TV specials made by a 70-year-old grandmother, a group show of video mash-up insanity (co-curated by Four Four, and including contributors ranging from TV Carnage to Rob Schrab), a closing 4th of July BBQ featuring Joe Dante’s epic 1969 4-hour found footage film The Movie Orgy and much, much more.  It’s a kind of gonzo convention for the most insane collectors of film and video ephemera (all of our friends basically), mixed in with with all of our favorite people on frontier of the comedy scene — people pushing the envelope of what comedy even is. Is that funny or just fuckin’ weird? Is truth stranger than fiction? Who made this and why? Does it even matter?

• Keynote speaker Mark Hosler (of Negativland)’s Adventures In Illegal Art: a live video/storytelling presentation on the history of Negativland’s infamous and hilarious media hoaxes!
• Raiders of the Lost Ark: The Adaptation: the legendary ’80s VHS shot-for-shot remake of Raiders by a cast & crew of teenagers in Mississippi — with the film’s star Chris Strompolos in person!
• A tribute to the Firesign Theater, with founding Firesign members Phil Proctor and Peter Bergman!
• The triumphant return of Dangerous Men, possibly the single most head-spinning holyfuckingshit feature film we’ve collectively ever seen!
• Neil Hamburger’s tribute to Dora Hal, the queen of “vanity entertainment”!
• A rare 35mm screening of Joe Dante’s The Movie Orgy, the epic four-hour late ’60s found footage marathon!
• The Pelican Brief Project: a completely weird live re-scoring by Candybox Violence!
• Thu Tran (host of IFC’s Food Party”) in person, with a special live show!!!!
• A late-nite live show from found footage pioneer TV Carnage!
• A megamix show of Cinefamily and Everything Is Terrible!’s favorite Supercuts and Trash Compactors, featuring a live appearance by FourFour!
• A sneak preview of The Agency, the psyche-shattering new animated feature from David O’Reilly (“The External World”) & Vernon Chatman (“Wonder Showzen”)!
• A program of crazed animation found footage curated by David O’Reilly!
• Ninja Annihilation War, the lost ninja ’80s classic by the Fung Brothers, introduced by Zack Carlson of Austin, TX’s Alamo Drafthouse!
• The return of Rob Schrab & Dan Harmon’s Found Crap!
• Sledgehammer: one of the earliest and most insane SOV (shot-on-video) horror films ever!
• The return of the Found Footage Battle Royale!
• A mondo mix of Hong Kong supernatural wizard flicks, plus a 35mm screening of Devil Fetus!
